DRCRC Racing Classes & Class Rules

Please note that these are house rules and apply to club racing events only. Classes and Rules for official Tamiya races will follow the TCS Canada rules and regulations available at http://www.tamiya.ca

Driver Stand Positioning

First round positioning will be first come first serve. For all subsequent races, drivers will select their place on the drivers stand in order of qualifying. Top qualifier from pervious heat will have first choice, second qualifier will choose his/her position second, and so on.

Class Rules

Fail Safe's are Mandatory. Both electronic and manual failsafes are allowed, but we recommend that both be used on nitro class vehicles.

GT1 Electric

1/10 scale electric touring car. *NEW FOR 2010 - Any Standard 10 Scale (540) Size Electric Motor will be permitted (Brushed or Brushless). Touring car bodies only. (No wedge type/CAN AM). Brushless systems are allowed as well as any battery, rubber tires. Your car body must be on car during race. 6 minute qualifiers, 6 minute main.* No Reverse allowed!

* This change has been made to compensate for the competitive advantage of new programmable speed controllers with variable timing software.

GT2 Electric

1/10 scale electric touring car. Tamiya 540 silver or black can motor or 21.5 Brushless Motor, max/min final drive ratio TBA, any battery type, rubber tires. Touring car bodies only no wedge type CAN AM. Race Rules

There will be at least 2 qualifiers for each class. Qualifier totals will be sorted by the transponder system to determine which MAIN you will run in.

Lipo Batteries must be hard case packs and 7.4V only. We are using the 2009 ROAR approved list as a guidline for acceptable battery packs. If your pack is not on the list it can be used if it is hard case and 7.4V. LiPo battery packs must be charged in an approved LiPo sack or in an approved enclosure. Please see DRCRC staff for approval. Maximum Pack Voltage may not exceed 8.40 Volts. Voltage may be checked before heats/mains to ensure no pack exceeds 8.40V *** NOTE: Any vehicle measuered by a DRCRC official to be equipped with a pack exceeding 8.40V will not be permitted to enter the heat or main. No exceptions.

All damaged cars will be removed from the track immediately by a Marshal and you will not be allowed to finish a race if your car is broken. Failure to comply will result in a penalty.

Spectators are to remain in designated areas only, NO Pets allowed and children are to be supervised at all times.

No Reverse allowed for any class.

You MUST give right of way to leaders and if you foul another driver you are not to continue until that driver passes you. This rule will be enforced by the Marshal calling the race. If you block a faster driver and get fouled the above rule will not apply.

Track Set-up and tear down is an extremely time consuming process. Help is not only appreciated but is expected from all members.
