DRCRC Racing Classes & Class Rules
Please note that these are house rules and apply to club racing events only. Classes and Rules for official Tamiya races will follow the TCS Canada rules and regulations available at http://www.tamiya.ca
Driver Stand Positioning
First round positioning will be first come first serve. For all subsequent races, drivers will select their place on the drivers stand in order of qualifying. The top qualifier from the previous heat will have first choice, second qualifier will choose his/her position second, and so on.
Race Format
There will be a minimum of 2 qualifiers for each class. Qualifier totals will be sorted by the transponder scoring system to determine which Main you will race in.
We use the AMb/rc timing system which will recognize all AMb/rc and compatible transponders. These transponders are required for all race events, and the club does not provide transponders. Please notify a club official if you are sharing a transponder with another driver.
Race Etiquette
You MUST give the right of way to race leaders and if you foul another driver, you are not to continue until that driver has passed you. This rule will be enforced by the DRCRC official calling the race. If you intentionally block a faster driver and get fouled, the above rule will not apply.
NO REVERSE ALLOWED FOR ANY CLASS
Spectators must remain in designated areas only. NO PETS ALLOWED. Children under the age of 12 years are to be supervised at all times. All competitors are responsible for the behaviour of any family members or guests that accompany them to the race event.
Lipo Batteries
Lipo batteries must be hard-case packs and 7.4 volt only. We are using the 2009 ROAR list of approved batteries as a guideline. If your pack is not on this list, it may be used provided it is a hard-case pack and rated at 7.4 volts. All Lipo batteries must be charged in an approved Lipo Sack or in an approved enclosure. Please check with a DRCRC official for approval.
Maximum pack voltage must not exceed 8.40V. Voltage may be checked before any race to ensure that no battery exceeds 8.40V. ***NOTE: any vehicle inspected by a DRCRC official that has a battery exceeding 8.40V will not be permitted to enter that race. No exceptions.
Track Set-up / Tear Down
Track set-up and tear down is an extremely time consuming process. Help is not only appreciated, but is expected from all participants. Remember, this is YOUR club.
