Theres about a million different tips and tricks that people have, but i would say just to run it at 1-2 volts for 5-10 minutes, I think that gearing your black or silver can is most important, and throttle control is also very important its never good to over drive your car

If I have time I water dip mine. Run it at 2 volts and watch the amp draw. It will start increasing. Once it starts to drop stop. I don't mean a slight fluctuation but a good drop.
My 2 cents.

Do you submerge the entire motor in the water or just a portion of it?

I use a plastic beer cup and submerge the whole motor in water.

Do you run it for a certain amount of time or monitor the amp draw like rcdave??

Dave is the one who showed me how to do it, so I would say watch the amp draw.
